It is with deepest regret that Staffordshire University Academies Trust must announce the passing of CEO Keith Hollins, on Thursday 23 September, surrounded by his family.
Since Friday 3 September, Keith was being cared for at Royal Stoke University Hospital, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of Coronavirus.
The impact Keith had on so many lives will always remain a part of his legacy and he will be deeply missed.
Our thoughts go out to Keith’s family, his wife Tracy and children Chris and Jenny. The staff at the Trust, along with the Academy Principals will be on hand to offer support to those who need it.
Keith’s wife, Tracy, shared a comment: “I am beyond devastated to inform you all that sadly Keith died at 2.45pm this afternoon. Thankfully, Chris, Jenny and I were able to be with him today, forever in our hearts.
“He was so proud of SUAT, of all the schools and everything that we achieved together. I hope that his legacy lives on.”
Professor Martin Jones, Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive Designate at Staffordshire University added: “Keith was an inspirational educator and unique leader who will be very much missed by our university community.
“He was a trailblazer for school collaboration, and instrumental to the growing success of Staffordshire University Academies Trust. He became the Trust’s first CEO when he was appointed in 2015 and under his leadership SUAT grew to become one of the biggest and most innovative Trust’s in the country.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.”
The Trust will be putting together a tribute in Keith’s honour in due course which will document all his incredible achievements over his 40-year career.
Should anyone wish to share tributes or cards, please direct these to SUAT’s Head Office: Staffordshire University Academies Trust, Kern House, Brooms Road, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST15 0TL. These will be passed on to Keith’s family from there.
