We have enjoyed spending time at the University of Staffordshire for their annual festive Christmas Carol service this week. Arranged and hosted by the University for their local community in the new Catalyst Building, the service was a thoroughly enjoyable way to celebrate Christmas and mark the beginning of the festive season!
The Trust gives heartfelt thanks to the staff and pupils of Littleton Green Community School, Dove CE Academy and St Edward’s CE Academy, for supporting and participating the service, for their beautiful signing and valued contributions. The Trust is incredibly proud of the performances given by children from our family of schools, to a number of ovations from the audience!
During the celebration, we listened to readings from the Gospel of St Luke and the Prophet Isaiah, which were accompanied by a variety of carols. Young people from our academies sang their choice of Christmas song in three uplifting performances, including beautiful and inspiring renditions of ‘Away in a Manger,’ ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas,’ and ‘It Was on a Starry Night’ before the service drew to a close with a blessing.
This year, children from across the Trust contributed to the decoration of the Christmas tree in the University’s new Catalyst Building, with handmade decorations, perfectly representing the spirit of Christmas. We were pleased to share the contributions and creativity of our children during the carol event and display of the tree, too.
SUAT is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for our learning communities and supporting a wide range of experiences which enhance the education and wellbeing of the children of Staffordshire. SUAT is proud to be sponsored by the University of Staffordshire, as we expand on our opportunities to engage with functions which offer enrichment opportunities to our academies and create lasting memories.
