We have enjoyed spending time at the University of Staffordshire for their annual festive Christmas Carol service this week. Arranged and hosted by the University for their local community, the service was a thoroughly enjoyable way to celebrate Christmas and mark the festive season.
The Trust gives heartfelt thanks to the staff and pupils of Charnwood Primary Academy, Moorgate Primary Academy and St Edwards CE Academy, for supporting and participating the service, and for their valued contributions. The service was enjoyed by all who attended. The Trust is incredibly proud of the performances given by children from our family of schools.
During the celebration, we listened to readings from the Gospels of St Luke and St John, which were accompanied by a variety of carols and hymns. Young people from our academies sang their choice of Christmas song in three uplifting performances, including beautiful and inspiring renditions of ‘It Was on a Starry Night,’ ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,’ and ‘Mary’s Boy Child’ before the service drew to a close with wonderful performances from Woodlands Nursery.
This year, children from across the Trust and Nursery contributed to the decoration of the Christmas tree in the University’s new Catalyst Building, with handmade decorations, perfectly representing the spirit of Christmas. We were pleased to share the contributions and creativity of our children during the carol event and display of the tree, too.
