We had the pleasure of joining the Headteacher at St Leonard’s First School, Tracey Parton for the official unveiling of the school’s brand-new library. Tracey did a ceremonial cutting of the ribbon to mark the occasion and was joined by staff, PTFA, pupils, staff from SUA Trust HQ and Bovis Homes representatives.

Library Opening

Thanks to a collaborative effort from all the aforementioned parties, the finances were raised to refurbish this essential function at the heart of the school.

Bovis Homes very kindly donated most of the money needed, designed the library and sourced the brand new “storyteller’s” chair.

Our operations team helped co-ordinate and source the appropriate contractors and SUAT part funded the project meaning that Tracey and her teaching staff didn’t have to worry about plans for the library and were able to focus on what they do best, teaching.

Bovis Homes kindly offered to support St Leonard’s First School with their library project as part of a keen interest to support its local community. The housebuilder’s head office is a stone’s throw away from St Leonard’s and so the team were more than happy to help out.

The existing library has been refurbished and is now a bright, fun space for children to use. It’s also been extended and has a new outdoor reading nook which has been covered with a shelter. It’s a great use of a space which was previously unoccupied.

The new library is a high-quality project, which will be a great learning resource for all of the pupils. We want to extend our thanks to Bovis Homes and the PTFA for their generosity and for enabling the project to happen.
