Staffordshire University is celebrating a 'silver' award for its learning and teaching in the new Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) announced this week.

The Teaching Excellence Framework, introduced by Government to help evidence the performance of the UK higher education sector, draws on national data, and evidence submitted by Universities, to measure excellence in teaching quality, the learning environment and the educational and professional outcomes achieved by students.

"The award validates our new ambitious Connected University strategy which celebrates our talented people and our innovative and applied learning, ensuring we connect with our wider communities. It sends a message to future students that we will help them achieve their ambitions!"

In addition to high levels of student satisfaction with assessment and feedback, feedback on Staffordshire University’s award recognises

  • University initiatives to develop graduate employability skills and close the regional skills gap,
  • significant investment in facilities and digital learning resources
  • students being given the opportunities to engage in research and other scholarly activity.
