St Edward’s CE Academy, Cheddleton had their SIAMS inspection (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) on 23rd January 2020. Their EXCELLENT grading shows that they have responded to the raised expectations within the new SIAMS framework and provide the children with exceptional teaching, learning and experiences. Their published report recognises outstanding pastoral care and attention to the mental health, spiritual and social needs of pupils and adults. Excellent religious education (RE) and collective worship is also credited. Mrs Machin, Principal at the academy commented, "It is a pleasure to lead a team of like-minded people who want nothing but the best, holistic provision and care for our children. The commitment and dedication of staff shone through as the children spoke and demonstrated the impact of learning, caring and living well together at St Edward’s, their influence on the wider community and their worries, wishes and influence on their world.” Nationally only around 5% of schools can expect to achieve an “excellent” SIAMS grade. This is the second of SUAT's academies to be inspected this academic year and the second to achieve the excellent grading.
