On Friday 15th November St. Augustine's CE Academy had a section 48 SIAMS inspection and achieved the top grade of Excellent! This is the Statutory Inspection of Anglican, Ecumenical and Methodist Schools. Under the new SIAMS Framework, it is incredibly difficult to achieve Excellent and many schools who were previously Outstanding have been re-graded as Good. The inspection was rigorous, much more so than the last Ofsted inspection I went through and carries the same value as an Ofsted inspection to church schools. St Augustine's is one of only a very small number of schools in the country who have been awarded Excellent. Executive Headteacher, Mrs Walker comented "I am so incredibly proud of our children who spoke with clarity, enthusiasm and joy on the day of the inspection. I am also so proud and grateful to our staff, all of whom give their heart and soul to our school. St Augustine’s is a very special place and this has been recognised by the inspector and detailed on the report".
