“Yesterday we were lucky enough to have a visit from Perry, the official mascot for the Birmingham 2022 Games. We were delighted to welcome Perry the Bull for a surprise assembly guest for all of our pupils. The children were thrilled to join in the interactive assembly and games as they learned about The Commonwealth Games. This is something the children will remember for a long time and hopefully inspire them within their own sporting activities for the future, as well as having an understanding and pride that The Games are being hosted in Birmingham and The West Midlands.”
“We had a busy week at Tynsel Parkes celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The school has been decorated in bunting and the children have been wearing red, white and blue. They have all enjoyed taking part in many Royal activities to celebrate this historic occasion including making Jubilee biscuits, thrones & carriages fit for The Queen, Royal Pavilions, and cushions to hold the Royal crown. Our Nursery children even got a surprise visit from The Queen and her Corgi!”
“The whole school enjoyed our street party to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years on the throne. Children wore red, white and blue clothes and ate a party lunch with jubilee cupcakes. Each year group sang a song from the decades including Elvis, The Beatles, Oasis and ‘Let it go’ from the film Frozen and the whole school sang the new jubilee anthem together. Later in the day Chairman Harold Jennings and Vice-Chair Lisa Salt presented each child with a jubilee mug and coin from Cheddleton Parish Council. It certainly was a very happy day making special memories!”
