New SUAT Podcast Launched
At SUAT, we’re incredibly excited about the launch of the very first trust wide podcast within our academies.
Four of our academies have come together to create the first ever SUAT podcast with a mission to start meaningful conversations between our pupils and staff.
The first podcast will be on Health and Wellbeing of pupils and will cover a variety of topics.
The idea to start a podcast first originated at our Moorgate Primary Academy who created a series of podcasts at Christmas based on the season.
The academies taking part are:
- Charnwood Primary Academy, Lichfield
- Littleton Green Community School, Cannock
- John Wheeldon Primary Academy, Stafford
- Tynsel Parkes CE Primary Academy, Uttoxeter
Teacher and KS1 Phase Leader at John Wheeldon Primary, Gavin Edensor was keen to carry on the success of the first podcast series and wanted to get more of his colleagues across the trust involved. It’s enabled him to work on his digital skills to see if a podcast could be a success across more of our academies.
Tracy Ward, Director of Learning and School Improvement, explained: “Tech mentor Richard Anderson and teacher Gavin have both had a lot of input into the project to create a useful platform”.
There will be a variety of topics discussed in the first podcast including some interesting staff wellbeing stories. Other activities will be included such as a lesson on different breathing exercises.
We look forward to seeing the response to our podcast and welcome any feedback and suggestions to continue covering topics that are meaningful to our audience.
Next term’s topic will focus on transitions and looking at how they can affect our pupils.
