Children at St Leonard’s CE First School enjoyed a very exciting visit from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity!
They had an informative assembly in which they learnt about how the charity works. Children found out how much it costs to send an air ambulance to an accident, how fast they can travel and all about the incredible equipment carried on board!
Following this, they had the chance to take to the driving seat and explore the buttons, switches and dials on board the pod. What a fantastic opportunity!
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is trying to visit as many schools in the area as possible, to help raise awareness of the charity and the vital roles our paramedics do every day.
Please see below a list of what Midlands Air Ambulance Charity can offer your school.
- Assemblies with presentation and talk about the charity, which would be suitable for their age group
- A visit to the school with the helipod (a decommissioned helicopter pod that children can sit in and experience) – more suitable for younger children up to around 10 years old
- CPR training for students yr5 and above (1hr sessions max 24 students at a time)
You can have a combination of the above opportunities as you see fit.
